About the Books
Created by Margret and H. A. Rey, Curious George has delighted young readers since 1941, and this seven-book paperback set gathers a fun-filled run of the monkey's everyday adventures. In Curious George and the Dinosaur, a school museum trip turns into an exciting brush with a dinosaur skeleton. Curious George and the Fire-fighters takes George to a busy fire station full of new sights and sounds, while Curious George Visits the Library follows his first trip among the stacks, complete with an overloaded book trolley. Curious George and the Birthday Surprise turns a party into a lesson about sharing the spotlight, and Curious George Visits a Toy Shop lands George in the middle of a brand-new shop's grand opening. Curious George Catches a Train sends George and the Man with the Yellow Hat to the station, where George's curiosity about the signal board nearly causes a mishap, and Curious George Goes to a Chocolate Factory lets him poke around a sweet-smelling shop to see how treats are made. Each story stands on its own, so children can read them in any order, and every title keeps George's trademark blend of good intentions and gentle trouble-making front and center. Bright, classic-style illustrations pair with short, accessible text that supports both read-aloud sessions and children just starting to sound out words on their own. Whether stacked on a bookshelf or read one at a time before bed, this set offers a full, satisfying dose of George's curious charm.

About the Author
Margret Rey, born Margarete Elisabeth Waldstein in Hamburg, Germany, co-created Curious George with her husband, H. A. Rey. The couple met in Brazil, married, and settled in Paris before famously fleeing the city by bicycle in 1940 as war approached, carrying the manuscript for their now-famous monkey with them. After reaching the United States, they published Curious George in 1941, and Margret continued writing additional adventures for the character for decades afterward. Her warm, playful storytelling voice, paired with H. A. Rey's classic illustration style, helped make George one of children's literature's most enduring characters.
