Overview
Meet Mirabelle Starspell, the mischievous half-witch, half-fairy cousin of the beloved Isadora Moon, in this complete 11-book paperback collection by Harriet Muncaster. Published by Oxford University Press, these charming early chapter books follow Mirabelle through witch school, family mix-ups, and everyday adventures with her best friend Carlotta. Illustrated throughout in Muncaster's signature purple-and-black style, each story blends gentle humor with relatable lessons about friendship, feelings, and fitting in. Perfect for newly independent readers aged 5-7, this collection is an ideal next step after picture books and a wonderful addition to any home or classroom library.

About the Books
This complete Mirabelle collection brings together all eleven paperback adventures starring Harriet Muncaster's spirited young heroine, Mirabelle Starspell. Born to a witch mother and a fairy father, Mirabelle is "a bit of both" and spends her stories navigating witch school, family life, and the everyday ups and downs of being a kid with a very magical family. Across the set, readers follow Mirabelle through mischief-filled school days, mixed-up potions lessons, tricky friendships, bad moods, competitive games, midnight feasts, haunted houses, and magical mayhem. Her loyal best friend Carlotta is often by her side, helping Mirabelle laugh off her mistakes and figure out how to put things right. Each book is illustrated throughout in Muncaster's recognizable witchy purple-and-black artwork, giving the series a distinctive look that fans of Isadora Moon will enjoy, since Mirabelle is Isadora's own magical cousin. The stories are written for children moving on from picture books into their first chapter books, with short chapters, large type, and plenty of pictures to support developing readers. Themes of honesty, kindness, resilience, and self-confidence run gently through the series, always delivered with warmth and humor rather than heavy-handed lessons. Because the books can be read in any order, this 11-book set is a flexible, ready-made library that lets young readers dip in wherever they like, then binge their way through Mirabelle's whole magical world. It's a good fit for classrooms, home libraries, and any child who loves stories about witches, fairies, and good-natured chaos.
