About the Books
Oliver Jeffers has built a reputation for picture books that feel intimate and universal at once, and this three-book set showcases that gift at its very best. Meanwhile Back on Earth... follows a family road trip that becomes a cosmic adventure, using the vastness of space to put everyday squabbles into gentle perspective for young readers. Here We Are: Notes for Living on Planet Earth began as a letter to Jeffers' own newborn son and has since become a cherished keepsake for new parents, introducing little ones to the wonders of the world, the diversity of people, and the importance of kindness toward one another. What We'll Build: Plans for Our Together Future continues that direct, letter-like style, exploring the promises a parent makes to a child about the life, home, and world they'll build side by side as they grow. Across all three books, Jeffers blends spare, poetic text with richly detailed, painterly illustrations that reward repeat readings and spark meaningful conversation. The books work beautifully as standalone reads or as a themed trio exploring family, connection, and our shared home on Earth, and the sturdy hardcover construction makes this set well suited to story time, classroom libraries, and keepsake shelves alike for years to come.
