About the Author
Ali Sparkes is a British children's author who worked as a newspaper journalist and BBC regional broadcast journalist before writing comedy for BBC Radio 4. She got her first book deal in 2004 for the five-part Shapeshifter series with Oxford Children's Books, later expanded with a sixth title. She has since published dozens of books for children and young adults, including the Shapeshifter spin-off series Unleashed, and her novel Frozen in Time won the Blue Peter Book Award. Sparkes lives in Southampton, England, with her family.
