Overview
The Teixcalaan Series 2 Books Collection Set brings together Arkady Martine's Hugo Award-winning space opera duology in one brand-new paperback bundle. Following ambassador Mahit Dzmare as she navigates the dazzling, deadly Teixcalaanli Empire, this set combines political intrigue, memory and identity, and first-contact tension across two award-caliber novels. Perfect for science fiction readers who love richly built empires and character-driven stakes, this collection delivers a complete, satisfying arc from imperial court to interstellar crisis, ideal for fans of literary space opera who want an award-winning series in one set.

About the Books
This two-book collection opens with A Memory Called Empire, the acclaimed debut that introduces Mahit Dzmare, newly appointed ambassador from a small mining station to the vast, culturally overwhelming Teixcalaanli Empire. Arriving to find her predecessor dead under suspicious circumstances, Mahit must decode imperial politics, poetry-obsessed courtiers, and a simmering conspiracy that threatens both her station's independence and her own sense of self, all while carrying an outdated, possibly failing neural implant loaded with her predecessor's memories and instincts. The novel won the Hugo Award for Best Novel and established Martine as a major new voice in modern space opera, praised for its intricate worldbuilding and vivid imperial court intrigue.

The set continues with A Desolation Called Peace, the sequel that widens the scope from palace intrigue to full first-contact crisis. An alien force lurks at the edges of Teixcalaanli space, one that cannot be reasoned with, and Fleet Captain Nine Hibiscus needs a diplomatic solution fast. Mahit Dzmare and her former liaison Three Seagrass, still recovering from the upheaval of the first book, are drawn into a negotiation where any misstep could annihilate both themselves and the Empire. This sequel also won the Hugo Award for Best Novel, making Teixcalaan one of the few series to claim the honor twice in a row.

About the Author
Arkady Martine is the pen name of AnnaLinden Weller, a speculative fiction writer and, under her own name, a historian of the Byzantine Empire and a city planner. Her work explores border politics, rhetoric, propaganda, and the edges of empire. Her debut novel, A Memory Called Empire, won the Hugo Award for Best Novel, and its sequel, A Desolation Called Peace, repeated that win, making Teixcalaan one of science fiction's most celebrated modern series. Martine grew up in New York City and now lives in New Mexico with her wife, fellow author Vivian Shaw.
