Overview
Step into the world of forensic anthropologist Dr. Temperance Brennan with this six-book paperback collection from Kathy Reichs, the scientist-turned-novelist whose expertise grounds every twist in hard-won authenticity. Spanning her debut through her sixth case, these novels follow Brennan across Montreal and North Carolina as she reads the silent testimony of bones to expose killers, cults, and cover-ups. Reichs writes with a clinical precision that never sacrifices pace, delivering crime fiction that rewards careful readers while keeping the pages turning. A must-have set for fans of smart, character-driven mystery.
About the Books
This collection gathers the first six Temperance Brennan novels in publication order, tracing the character's earliest, most formative cases. In Deja Dead, Brennan's debut investigation into a Montreal serial killer establishes her as a forensic anthropologist unwilling to let scientific doubt go unexamined. Death Du Jour pulls her into a case tangled with cult history and cold remains, while Deadly Decisions drags her into the violent world of a Quebec biker gang war. Fatal Voyage opens with a plane crash in the North Carolina mountains and a mysterious severed foot that leads Brennan toward a hidden cult. Grave Secrets sends her to Guatemala to identify massacre victims amid political corruption, and Bare Bones closes the set with a sweltering summer of grisly discoveries, from a newborn's remains in a wood stove to a fatal plane crash. Across all six books, Reichs draws on her own career as a board-certified forensic anthropologist to render autopsy tables, bone labs, and crime scenes with a level of procedural detail rarely matched in the genre. Brennan herself is a compelling anchor throughout: meticulous, stubborn, occasionally reckless, and always driven by the conviction that the dead deserve answers. Readers who enjoy Patricia Cornwell's Kay Scarpetta novels or the TV series Bones, which the character inspired, will recognize the same blend of hard science and human stakes here, distilled into six tightly plotted, self-contained mysteries that also build toward a larger arc.

About the Author
Kathy Reichs is a board-certified forensic anthropologist who has worked for the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in North Carolina and for Quebec's forensic laboratory. A professor of anthropology at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte, she draws directly on her casework to fuel the Temperance Brennan novels.
