Overview
The Wizards of Once is a four-book fantasy adventure series by Cressida Cowell, creator of How to Train Your Dragon. Set in an ancient forest world where Wizards wield magic and Warriors fear it, the series follows Xar, a young wizard prince, and Wish, a warrior girl hiding a forbidden gift, as an unlikely friendship pulls them into danger and a fight to save their world. This complete paperback set brings every title in the saga together for young fantasy readers.

About the Books
This four-book collection follows the complete arc of Cressida Cowell's Wizards of Once saga, a fantasy series set long before the age of dragons, in a world split between magic-wielding Wizards and magic-fearing Warriors. At the heart of the story are Xar, the reckless son of the Wizard King, and Wish, daughter of the Warrior Queen, who secretly possesses a dangerous magical object she must keep hidden. When their paths cross in the forbidden forest, the two children form an uneasy alliance that sets the series in motion. Across the four books, Xar and Wish are drawn deeper into ancient prophecies, witch magic, and warring kingdoms, all while deciding whether Wizards and Warriors can ever truly trust one another. Cowell's blend of humor, heart, and adventure runs through every title, paired with her signature black-and-white illustrations that bring the Wild Woods to life. The series builds from its mysterious beginnings in The Wizards of Once through escalating battles of magic and loyalty in Twice Magic and Knock Three Times, culminating in the finale, Never and Forever. Fans of inventive world-building and unlikely friendship will find this collection a satisfying, complete read.
